Images from this piece are sourced from maps, 19th century advertising, and a collection of 70s public domain icons combined with my own characters and then colored with acrylics. The work was inspired by New Mexico legend Elfego Baca and the drunken Texans who falsely accused him of murder and of being an outlaw.
